As an Environmental Program Manager I (Supervisory) you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage and supervise supervisory and senior engineers, scientists and administrative staff responsible for the evaluation and cleanup of hazardous waste contaminated properties
  • Plan, organize, direct, and provide review of the work performed by the Exide, LABRIC, and Data Management Units and is responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of investigation, cleanup and restoration of properties designated under the LABRIC program as well as the Exide Facility
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and provide staff with support, expertise resources, and training to make appropriate project decisions effectively and efficiently
  • Identify and procure adequate levels of resources necessary to meet resource needs, staff development, and performance measures as outlined in the DTSC Strategic Plan
  • Provide regular and timely written performance appraisals to staff; counsels staff and initiate disciplinary actions as necessary
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, train, develop, and provide leadership to staff
  • Coordinate with the Exide Assistant Deputy Director and SMRP management, supervisors, and project managers in evaluation and practice of the standardization of cleanup processes used within DTSC and implement recommendations for the synchronization of the cleanup processes under federal/state corrective action process for hazardous waste facilities and/or the federal National Contingency Plan Process

  • Experience with managing sites impacted by lead
  • Experience working with legal during cost recovery efforts
  • Experience tracking and managing budget
  • Regulatory experience, and coordination with Federal, State, and local agencies
  • Technical experience related to sites remediation
