As an Environmental Program Manager I (Sup) you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage and supervise subordinate senior and supervisory engineers, scientists and administrative staff responsible for the evaluation and cleanup of hazardous waste contaminated properties
  • Ensure that Site Mitigation Program decisions are technically sound, innovative, consistent with DTSC goals and procedures, and protective of public health and the environment
  • Provide staff with support, expertise, resources, and training to make appropriate project decisions in an effective and efficient matter
  • Plan, organize, direct, and provide managerial review of the work performed in the Chatsworth Branch. Provides regular and timely written performance appraisals for staff
  • Counsel staff and initiate disciplinary actions as necessary
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and provide leadership to staff

  • Knowledge and experience regarding mitigation and restoration of properties contaminated with hazardous substances
  • Experience interacting with stakeholders regarding site cleanup issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
